Week 23 & 24: Fit Pregnancy Update
Week 23 & 24: Fit Pregnancy Update
Todays Date: 01/17/2017
How many weeks are you: 23
What trimester are you in: Second
How big is the baby: Size of a large mango
Weight Gain: 9 pounds
Food Cravings: Sweets
Food Aversions: None
Gender: GIRL!!! Finally revealed the gender and couldn’t be more excited! We used a gender reveal baseball which was so fun. We had the gender sealed in an envelope that was given to Johnnies best friend who gave us the correct color baseball to hit. Because my symptoms for this pregnancy had been so different, I was convinced it was a boy. I was very shocked to see pink dust! My husband is a huge sports fan so this was the perfect way to reveal the gender.
Diet: With party planing and family visiting, my diet was very scattered this week. The frequency of meals and sporadic food choices were very much out of my normal routine. In the past, I would never allow this to happen. But sometimes its tough to be consistent 100% of the time and instead of beating myself up over it, I enjoyed it and look forward to getting back into a routine next week.
Weekly splurge: We had a taco truck for the party and they were delicious! I stuck to chicken tacos but had plenty of chips and salsa with it. I also couldn’t resist the dessert table I put together!
Exercise: I was able to squeeze in 4, quick workouts.
Aches and Pains: A little discomfort in my tailbone but feeling pretty good otherwise.
Have you felt the baby move: Yes!! This baby is very active!
Labor signs: None
Maternity clothes: Still holding off on the maternity clothes but I will be needing to make the transition soon.
Sleep/Dreams: Some nights are definitely better than others. My pregnancy body pillow does help a lot. (Link here)
Favorite moment of the week: Finally revealing the gender of baby #2 and hosting our housewarming/gender reveal party. We had so much fun celebrating with all of our closest friends and family!Looking forward to: The craziness of moving and party planing being over and being able to slow down a little for the next couple weeks.
Struggles of the week
This week was CRAZY with family visiting and party planning. Being somewhat of a perfectionist and going overboard for parties always leads to unnecessary pressure and stress. During times like this, my workouts tend to get put on the back burner . In all honesty, I had no motivation to workout this week. I was feeling tired, overwhelmed and stressed with getting everything ready. These are the exact times when squeezing in time to workout is the most beneficial. Short, quick workouts really help me mentally during times of stress and anxiety. I used to think that if I didn’t have an hour to workout then I didn’t even want to bother. Now, being a busy mom, I find myself appreciating a quick, intense 20-30 minute workout just as much. Something is ALWAYS better than nothing!
